Product Research

The cheapest mistake to fix in ecommerce is the product, and only if you fix it before you order stock. We check demand, competition, margin after ad costs and supplier reliability, and give you a shortlist you can defend, whether you're starting a store or adding a line to one that already sells.

What's included

The work itself.

Demand and trend data

Search volume and trend direction from Google and marketplace data, TikTok and Meta ad libraries for what competitors are spending on, and seasonality so you don't launch a winter product in April.

Competition and positioning

Who already sells it, at what price, with what reviews. Where the complaints cluster is where your version wins. If the market is owned by three brands with 10,000 reviews, we say so.

Margin that survives ads

Landed cost, Shopify and payment fees, shipping, packaging, returns rate and a realistic cost per purchase. A product that only works at a 60% margin with organic traffic is not a product, it is a hope.

Supplier vetting

Sample orders, lead times, MOQ negotiation, print-on-demand versus held stock, and a second source for anything that could sell out. For dropshipping we test the actual delivery time to a US address.

What you get

Deliverables.

  • A shortlist of validated products with demand, competition and margin data for each
  • Recommended pricing and positioning per product
  • Vetted supplier options with lead times and MOQs
  • Sample-order plan and a go or no-go recommendation
  • Notes on which products suit ads and which suit search
Questions

Before you ask.

I already have a product. Is this still useful?
Yes, as validation. Half the time it confirms the product and sharpens the positioning. The other half it saves a stock order.
Do you research for dropshipping?
We do, with the caveat that we test delivery times and supplier consistency because that is where dropshipping stores die. If the numbers don't work we will recommend held stock or print on demand instead.
Can this be part of a store launch?
It is the first step of our Launch scope. Research first, then brand and store are built around products we know can sell.

Send us the store link. We'll tell you what's costing you sales.

Live store or a blank Shopify trial, either is fine. You'll get a short list of what to fix first and what it would take. No pitch deck, no pressure to buy the whole package.
